Ok, I just want to be clear before I screw up something, no pun intended.

I have read that when installing my scotty rod holders I should not just use stainless screws and Marine Goop. I should use rivots or washers )which I cannot do because I cannot get my arms back that far.

Please clarify before I make a huge mistake.

I have used ss screws and sealant with no problems. Rivets are a PITA when you have to replace them.

Ok picked up some 3M sealant 3500 I think it is. Could not find Goop or Lexel. The guy at West Marine said it would work. I will pick up so e screws in the morning and get it done. I hope to get it in the river Monday.
